The Center for Information Systems (CIS) is a structural unit of Sumy State University and is directly subordinate to the Vice-Rector for the respective area of activity.
The center’s activity goal is to build, support, and develop a unified integrated information system of Sumy State University, as well as to design and implement new information technologies in the educational, scientific, managerial, and other activities of the university.
The center is led by the head of the center. The structure of the center includes laboratories and groups that are directly subordinate to the head of the center.

The Laboratory of System Analysis ensures the implementation of the center’s tasks regarding the creation, support, and development of a comprehensive functional and information model of the university. It conducts research and analysis of all components of the university’s activities to improve, formalize, and identify problems that need to be addressed. The laboratory also develops organizational and methodological support and technical tasks for the creation and implementation of automated systems and provides educational and consulting work in the field of system analysis and modeling of information systems and technologies.

The Laboratory of Automated Systems ensures the implementation of the center’s tasks related to the construction, support, and development of the information-analytical system of the university. It develops, implements, and supports software and information support for the automated management system, automated testing system, and other automated systems. The laboratory also provides educational and consulting work in the field of designing information systems and technologies.

The Laboratory of Electronic Document Management and Information Services ensures the implementation of the center’s tasks related to the construction, support, and development of the electronic document management system and a set of information services of the integrated information system of the university. It develops, implements, and supports software and information support for the automated electronic document management system, electronic personal cabinets, and information services. The laboratory provides program and technical support for electronic document management with external organizations and institutions and conducts educational and consulting work in the field of electronic document management and information services.
Laboratory of Modern Information Systems for University Management
The Laboratory of Modern Information Systems for University Management ensures the implementation of the center’s tasks related to the study and analysis of methods and technologies for building and supporting modern information systems for university management. It studies and analyzes European experience in university management regarding the use of modern information systems and technologies. The laboratory adapts and implements the best practices for building and using modern information systems for university management. It develops recommendations for the effective use of modern information systems and technologies for educational institutions in Ukraine and conducts training seminars and consultations for university employees and managers on the effective use of modern information systems and technologies.
IT Marketing Group
The IT Marketing Group ensures the implementation of the center’s tasks related to searching customers for IT services and promoting their own IT developments to the external market under the SumDU brand. It determines the corresponding marketing and advertising strategy and also organizes effective interaction with customers of IT services.
